FOTD with Charlotte Tilbury

Today I tried out an eye look with my Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita quad. Now I’m not experienced AT ALL with applying eyeshadow. I’m still practicing so this is far from perfect, but I think it’s quite decent compared to some of the looks I’ve tried in the past (see ‘horrendous’ in the dictionary). I’ve written a previous post with swatches of her shadows that you can check out below.

I used the Prime color on my inner half of the eyelid and inner corner, Pop on the other half of the lid and Smoke for the outer V. The color pop didn’t go on as easily as I would have liked, it was kind of gritty with some glittery fallout, unfortunately. Still a beautiful color. Maybe I’ll try it wet next time.

I used the Colour Chameleon eyeshadow pencil in Dark Pearl to outline my top and bottom lash line – it blends in with the rest of the shadows since it’s brown, so it’s kind of hard to spot but it is a gorgeous, gorgeous color.

Cheek to Chic Swish & Pop Blusher in Ecstasy I applied on my cheeks, with the swish color lightly applied to my cheekbones and pop applied to the apple of my cheeks.

I lightly applied a couple strokes of Charlotte’s Bar of Gold just above my blush.

I paired Charlotte’s Lip Lustre gloss in Seduction on top of my Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Touchable Taupe.

Foundation: Revlon Nearly Naked in Warm Beige & Sonia Kashuk Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in Honey
Mascara: Guerlain Cils D’enfer Maxi Lash (my favorite mascara thus far)
Brows: Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in Ebony

Thanks for checking this out and hope you enjoy!

Maybelline Color Sensational The Buffs Lip Color

A couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon these online and HAD to try some. For only $5.50 a piece (not including the coupons I had), I couldn’t go wrong.

I purchased four of these in the colors Sin-A-Mon (935), Touchable Taupe (940), Stormy Sahara (945) and Untainted Spice (950). I have to say I absolutely LOVE every color and it’s hard for me to pick a favorite.. I’m so into nudes and neutrals right now and every color I bought is wearable (yay, no returns!).

Sin-A-Mon on my lips is like a light beige-y taupe-y color and actually reminds me a lot of my NYX Round Lipstick in Rea, but not nearly as matte or bold. Touchable Taupe might be my favorite out of all of them, a creamy light chocolatey color (I’m horrible with descriptions, can you tell?) that I think goes amazing with my skin tone. Stormy Sahara is definitely a pink-toned sandy nude and in my opinion doesn’t seem to go on quite as smooth as the rest, but nonetheless is still wearable and beautiful. Last but not least is Untainted Spice which is kind of like a chocolate brown with a slight hint of plummy red. It goes on quite glossy which I really like and I really love this color too.

I can’t say I’ve ever really worn Maybelline lipstick before, but I really, really like these and hope they’ll be sticking around for a while. There’s a large variety to choose from (10 in all), so there shouldn’t be much trouble finding the perfect shade for you!
