Zoya Polish Swatches

Hey, everybody! So as promised before, I’ve done some swatches of the Zoya polishes I’ve acquired recently. A few of them I won through their fashion week contests and a few of them I purchased myself. All of these colors are beautiful, but there are some I really take to more than others and that’s just my personal preference. I’m not a HUGE polish person. Though I love my nails painted, I HATE painting them and also hate how horrible the condition of my nails has gotten within the last few months. They used to be really long and healthy and I’d have to clip and file them down every few weeks because of the growth, but lately they’ve been really dry and a bit brittle. Does anyone else have this problem? I think it’s because I’ve been painting my nails more than usual, but how do girls keep them in such pristine condition? Even with base coats and top coats they still seem to degrade in quality after every wear. Let me know your secrets!

On to the swatches:

Zoya DovimaZoya Matte Velvet in Dovima – a matte black with silver shimmer I want to say? To me, it looks a lot like Zoya’s Claudine, but matte instead of shine. This is 2 coats of polish. This is the first and only matte polish I own and I can’t say I’m a huge fan, but that’s only my personal opinion. I don’t know, matte polishes just look like chalk boards to me and they make me cringe because I can’t help but to think about nails running down a chalkboard – just not my cup of tea. I’m a creamy, shiny polish person.

Zoya JacquelineJacqueline – Zoya describes this as a “full coverage, perfect magnolia nude cream. A light creamy beige with slight warm undertones and a glossy finish”. I would describe this as French vanilla. I love the color but it applied pretty streaky for me. This took 3 coats to make it opaque. Not full coverage in my opinion.

Zoya DahliaDahlia from Zoya’s PixieDust collection – Zoya describes this as a “black beauty with a sugared sparkle”. This is intensely sparkly (which I like) and gritty like sugar, but what I don’t like is trying to get it off! I avoid glittery polishes for this reason only, although I own quite a few because glitter is simply irresistible! I think it has a hold on many of us!

Zoya DemiDemi – Zoya describes this one as “a medium dusty mauve-purple creme with strong red undertones”. This took 2 coats to reach opacity and applied smoothly. To me this is a great color for fall.

Zoya PippaPippa – described as an “ultra-bright, sunny and cheerful medium lemon yellow creme”. This color reminds me of sunflowers and smiley faces! Not a color I would normally wear, but if you like bright colors, this would work for you. This color also applied streaky and took 3 coats to make opaque.

Zoya AveryAvery – “a full coverage blonde-beige cream”. This is a unique nude that reminds me of a beigy version of the Crayola crayon, Apricot (that’s the first thing that came to mind when applying this). This was pretty smooth to apply and took 2 coats.

Zoya Naturel Collection - BrigitteBrigitte – part of Zoya’s Naturel Collection. I’m in love with this collection! I’ve only gotten 2 of them so far (if only I were rich), but the 2 I got were the ones that appealed to me the most. Zoya describes Brigitte as a full coverage bombshell mauve cream. This color is just stunning, the pictures don’t do it justice at all. It applies like a dream, fully opaque with 2 coats.

Zoya Naturel Collection - NormaniThis is Normani – “a full-coverage, sable mauve cream”. It was hard to capture the mauviness of this in my photos, but this color to me is just so unique and rich. This one also applied like a dream – so creamy and nearly opaque with just 1 coat, but I applied 2 just to be safe.

Zoya SailorLast but not least is Sailor – “a classic dark navy cream”. This to me is kind of a muted navy color – hard for me to explain, but not truly as navy as navy usually is. And I love that because I wanted something that was just a tad bit toned down and not as dark and bold. This was very creamy and smooth to apply, again, almost fully opaque with 1 coat, but I’ve done 2 just to be on the safe side.

Have you tried out any of these colors? What are your current favorite polishes at the moment?
